One Word Can Change Everything

Do you ever find yourself in a place where it feels like it will take nothing short of a miracle to get through? Have you ever felt like all of Hell has lined up against you and you are weary from the battle? If that’s where you are today, I have a word for you. Did you know that just one word from God can change everything?

This morning, as I was praying over our family, our ministry, and some very specific needs, I asked God for wisdom to lead well and for His words to flow through me to change lives. In that prayer I told Him, “One word from You can change everything.” In that moment, His presence settled in deep and I knew something was about to shift.

The Word from the Beginning

Scripture reminds us:

• “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1)

• “Then God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.” (Genesis 1:3)

• “The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made.” (John 1:2-3)

Jesus was with God before the foundations of time. He wasn’t just sent to fulfill the Word of God. He IS the Word. He is the very breath of God: God in human form, God in Word, and God in light.

And Jesus Himself declares:

“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)

The very first words God spoke were “Let there be light.” In that moment, God pointed everything toward Jesus, the Word, the Light, the very source of life. And now, through the blood of Jesus, we have full access to Him and every good thing God has prepared for us.

You Were Never an Afterthought

Salvation was never an afterthought. Eternity was never an afterthought. You were never an afterthought. God had everything in place before He created anything—Jesus.

But sometimes, we don’t live like we have that access. Sometimes we walk as if we are alone, hopeless, broken, frustrated, and beaten down by life. Yet listen again to John 8:12:

“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Life was never meant to crush you. It was meant to be lived in the Spirit and in truth, full of God’s light, joy, and strength, not constant breaking.

A Word for the Weary

Friend, I know it gets hard. We face real troubles. But inside of you is life itself, the power to overcome all things. Reach down deep today, touch the hem of His garment, and let His power rule in your life.

A Prayer for You

Dear Abba,

Today I pray for my sweet friends. I pray that You stir up the life that is living inside them. I pray that the power in them is greater than the power in the world. I pray that faith, boldness, wisdom, and passion are stirred up within them. I pray that You give them supernatural strength to break through every barrier that tries to hold them back. I pray that You heal their broken places and restore life within them.
